This is a bridal website and blog I was hired to redesign and develop for MichaelRahn.com. I chose to go the WordPress route since the blog software was already installed on the server and use the WordPress CMS for the entire site, not just the blog. This ultimately gives more control of the content of the site to the owner so they more easily change content and widget options.
I added features or widgets such as:
- Sharing of blog posts (Facebook Like, Tweeting, etc),
- A slider for image galleries,
- A customizable drop down menu widget,
- A newsletter widget to send emails about recent blog posts,
- and much more.
Most of the work here is your standard PHP, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript all made to work under the WordPress CMS for greater customization of options including: page layouts, colors, custom widget options, etc.
The Store area of the Website under the Magneto CMS will later be integrated into WordPress for better control of the pages under the WordPress CMS. This will allow the whole site to flow together better as well so it looks and functions as one single website.
